How it works
The one-sentence pitch
Jodi is actually updating her legal middle name after a divorce. Friends kept pitching names. Someone built a site so those pitches cost money and the scoreboard is public. Comedy night, but the punchline gets filed with a court someday.
Two ways to play
-
Vote with dollars on names already on the list. $1 = 1 vote. Stack a respectful pile on “something normal” or bankroll the nickname that made you snort wine out your nose.
-
Propose a new name for a flat $20. Your idea hits the ballot so everyone else can throw singles at it like it is last call at an open mic.
Rules that keep us out of real trouble
- Votes only work for listed names. No write-ins at the register; you pay to play what is on the board.
- New names appear after Stripe says paid. If the screen lags, refresh. Webhooks are doing their job in the back; they do not take requests from the audience.
- Keep it sharp, not cruel. Harassment, slurs, and “jokes” that are really threats get pulled. If you would not say it loud with Jodi in the room, do not type it.
Refunds
Fundraiser first. If a charge misfires, email us and we will fix it without making it weird.
Tone check
This is a roast with receipts. The legal name change is real; the voting is for fun and fundraising. Laugh hard, pay if you want, do not confuse this for a government election.
